So...Tired

I am freaking exhausted!! My God! No wonder I've only thrown like three or four of these big parties in the last four years! They're a shit load of work. Not that I'm not glad I didn't have it, because it was a lot of fun, but the prep work was hard. It involved cleaning, cooking (though mom did all of that--love mom) preparing the water balloons (enormous job in itself) going shopping for the water guns--oh, crap! I forgot to give them to people! Oh, well, more for me.

Anyway, Maegen came over first, followed by Kendal--I actually walked into the room with no pants on when Kendal was there, and I didn't notice at all--the pants were wet and I was taking them to the dryer, and I only thought Maegen was there. Anyway, Kendal, Maegen, Liz and I were watching the Phantom sing along that I found on the extras disk, which has the cast and crew singing The Phantom of the Opera really badly and out of key, when Scott and Tyler walked in. Poor Scott hates the movie, but Tyler thought the sing-along was really funny. So, after that we shared summer stories, we talked, Ben showed up, we did a little water ballooning, and we established that the water guns were to be used only for disagreeing with people. You disagree, squirt the person! So while we were talking, Scott got very wet, since he kept insisting that 13 was 'old enough'. Ew.

Anywho, then we had our big water balloon fight when Lauren and Erica showed up, and then we ate. Mom grilled, we had several salads, lots of chips and pretzels...was good. Then it was mostly DDR until dessert of brownie sundaes, and then most everyone went home. God, I'm pooped. There's so much strain when you're hosting a party, even when it is for your friends. I had to go and get everything for everyone, since most people don't know my house well enough to find things for themselves.

But it was still a ton of fun.

On a side note, I've just charged up my debit card for my next week's vacation, and I have $320 to spend altogether!! Of course, that's minus two hotel nights, a park and a faire admission, so after all that, I probably have $150 spending money. Which, considering last year, I would have had to save 15 weeks of allowance for. So, not too shabby.

Everyone seemed to have a good time, Tyler hurt himself and tore up quite a big section of my lawn--thank God dad hasn't noticed yet, because I will be butchered--and Maegen had a good birthday celebration.

Thank you Dan and Scott for bringing DDR!!
